Recruiting & Professional Development Coordinator Fitzpatrick, Cella, Harper, & Scinto

Experience

Fitzpatrick, Cella, Harper, & Scinto September 2015 – Present Recruiting & Professional Development Coordinator (October 2017 – Present) Recruiting Assistant (September 2015 – October 2017)

I am excited to accept the nomination for Secretary of the 2018-2020 New York City Recruiting Association (NYCRA). Since transitioning my career to Legal Recruiting in 2015, I am grateful for the programming and networking opportunities that NYCRA has afforded me as a newcomer. I would relish the opportunity to become more involved and to further the goals of this organization.

I was first introduced to recruiting in a temporary role at Cravath, Swaine, and Moore LLP. Here I was inspired by the collaborative and high-speed nature of the Summer Program and OCI season. I quickly realized my organizational skills, ability to perform a multitude of tasks under pressure, and enthusiasm would be a strong fit for the industry.

Directly after, I began at Fitzpatrick, Cella, Harper, & Scinto as the Recruiting Assistant, supporting all on-campus and entry-level recruiting efforts, associate onboarding, and summer programs. As a member of a two-person team, I benefit from the mentorship of former NYCRA Chair, Nicole Cohen and the opportunity to delve into all aspects of this role including qualifying applicants, scheduling call-back interviews, and planning student outreach initiatives and firm-wide events.

In the fall of 2017, I was promoted to Recruiting & Professional Development Coordinator. In addition to taking on more in regards to recruiting, I am now responsible for the development and implementation of all attorney in-house professional trainings. My attention to detail in maintaining FCHS’s recruiting, professional memberships, and attorney’s CLE records will transfer well to the role of Secretary.

I have also been fortunate enough to attend the Annual NALP Conference for the past two years in Boston and San Francisco (and looking forward to Hollywood!). This exposure has broadened my knowledge of various aspects of our industry both in regards to the New York market and on a national level.

In my few years of experience, I have grown professionally and have been able to take ownership in my work. I have developed effective relationships with all levels of attorneys, department heads, Career Service offices, as well as NYCRA members.

If given the opportunity to serve as our Secretary, I am eager to continue learning from and to collaborate with other board members. I am confident that my skill set, past experiences and enthusiasm will add value to the Board and organization as a whole. Thank you for your consideration,
