O'Melveny has an immediate opening for an Attorney Recruiting & Development Assistant in our New York office. This role will work closely with the Attorney Recruiting and Development Manager to provide support in the recruitment, integration and retention of attorneys and summer associates.

The salary range in NYC for this role is $60,000 - $70,000 and represents the firm’s good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location.


Recruiting Responsibilities:

Assists in the coordination of all aspects of the attorney recruitment process, including on-campus recruiting, the callback interview process and lateral recruiting.
Assists with the preparation for and execution of our summer associate program.
Communicates with applicants to schedule interviews. Works with the Coordinators on matters relating to onboarding and orientation of our new and lateral associates.
There are also Firmwide projects as assigned by the Director of Attorney Recruiting. The Assistant will support the Manager and Coordinator with gathering and assessing Firmwide talent-related data, generating reports for Firm leadership, handling law school registrations for on-campus interviews and other projects as requested.

Professional Development Responsibilities:

Helps facilitate the office’s training and mentoring programs.
Assists in executing initiatives and attorney development programs.
Builds awareness, understanding, and support for the Firm’s talent development initiatives.
Involvement in the attorney evaluation process.
There are also Firmwide projects as assigned by the Director of Attorney Professional Development.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

A minimum of 1 year of attorney recruiting and/or attorney development experience preferred (preferably in a large law firm environment) or professional services experience.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Superior technical skills and the ability to consider and analyze data and how it can be best utilized for the firm’s talent development efforts.
Must be detail-oriented and possess excellent follow-up skills in a fast-paced environment.
Candidates should be proactive and comfortable dealing with all levels of leadership.
Experience with LawCruit and Workday or other applicant tracking system is strongly preferred.
A four year college degree is required.
