Overview:
Jenner & Block is seeking a creative, organized and detail-oriented team player to join our team in our mission to recruit the best legal talent. The Recruiting Coordinator will be an essential part of our Recruiting team and will support a variety of the New York office's recruiting initiatives, including law student, post-clerk, lateral associate recruitment, the administration of the summer associate program, and the planning and execution of a variety of recruitment events and programming. This role will also be supporting some of our key firm-wide recruiting and DEI initiatives.
The Recruiting Coordinator will report to the NY Legal Recruiting Manager and Firmwide Director of Legal Recruiting
The role requires a highly organized, detail-oriented individual with strong client service orientation, as well as excellent written and verbal communications skills. This role is a non-exempt position, based in New York.
The work schedule for this position is 9:30 a.m.- 5:30 p.m. with additional hours as needed to meet operating and business needs.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
-Receiving and reviewing incoming entry-level and lateral candidate applications; coordinating aspects of entry-level and lateral hiring, scheduling interviews with candidates and attorneys.
-Coordinating virtual campus interview program registrations and supporting relationships with law school placement offices.
-Organizing student outreach activities and panels with firm attorneys.
-Coordinating the NY summer associate program including orientation, activities, assignment tracking, supporting and attending summer associate programming, including evening events.
-Collaborating firm-wide with various teams (HR, Talent Development, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion) on various projects including attorney orientation, on-boarding and firm-wide initiatives.
-Maintaining applicant tracking system and generating reports; fielding daily recruiting/legal personnel questions
-Performing other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
A professional with experience in coordinating recruiting initiatives, with an understanding of a law firm or professional services environment. Demonstrates the ability to deliver a high standard of work while maintaining a customer service focus.
· A four year Bachelor’s degree is required, or equivalent work experience.
· 2 years prior experience in a law firm or professional services environment (law firm experience preferred).
· Superior interpersonal, written and communication skills, and the ability to interact effectively, professionally, courteously and confidently with candidates, partners, headhunters and all levels of firm personnel and staff.
· Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and planning skills
· Ability to work independently as well as collaborate effectively within a team setting.
· Ability to multi-task and meet competing deadlines
· Attention to detail and sound business judgment
· Ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality
· Flexibility to adjust hours and work the hours necessary to meet operating and business needs
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word); experience with ViDesktop/applicant tracking systems, and the ability to master new software programs
Additional Information:
The anticipated annual base salary range for this position in New York is $75,000 to $82,500. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the applicant, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, and certifications or other professional licenses held.
