Based in New York, the Lateral Recruiting Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating with practice group leadership, managing relationships with search firms, overseeing recruitment processes, and ensuring smooth onboarding and integration of lateral hires. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, collaborative, and able to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

This role reports to the Lateral Recruiting Manager and works closely with our New York Director of Recruiting to support lateral attorney recruiting across the firm.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate national and regional searches for targeted practice groups and specialized areas, including identifying needs, interfacing with candidates, and scheduling interviews.
  • Support Lateral Manager in practice group and practice group management discussions around needs, integration, and other topics.
  • Collaborate with Lateral Partner Recruiting Function to anticipate associate and of counsel needs in conjunction with partner hires.
  • Draft, track, and audit search firm fee agreements, search firm communications, and candidate submissions.
  • Analyze historical search firm submission data.
  • Draft offer letters and ensure templates remain compliant through regular review with appropriate departments.
  • Track onboarding process and notifications, including conflicts clearance, reference checks, and background verifications.
  • Work closely with practice group management and professional development functions to ensure robust integration for lateral attorney hires.
  • Provide dedicated support for New York-based lateral attorney recruiting, including scheduling interviews, collecting feedback, managing communications, and tracking candidate progress in the applicant tracking system.

Qualifications:

  • A four-year college degree is required.
  • 2–4 years of legal recruiting or professional services recruiting experience, preferably in a law firm environment.
  • Legal recruiting experience is preferred.
  • Experience with an applicant tracking software (preferably ViRecruit) is preferred.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite is a must.
  • Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
  • Must take initiative.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize under tight deadlines.
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Handle high volume of work.
  • Be a team player.
  • Exhibit good judgment.
  • Detail-oriented.

Compensation & Benefits:

The annual compensation range for this position is $80-95k. The salary offered within this range will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
