Cooley is seeking a Director of Strategic Lateral Growth & Integration to join its Legal Talent team. The Director of Strategic Lateral Growth & Integration will lead Cooley’s efforts to recruit and integrate lateral partner attorneys and groups consistent with the firm’s growth priorities.
The Director of Strategic Lateral Growth & Integration will work closely with the firm’s CEO, board of directors, department leadership teams and practice group leaders to drive strategic growth initiatives and identify new areas of opportunity including practices, industries and geographic markets.
Candidates must have an undergraduate degree and 10+ years’ prior law firm or legal recruiting experience. A graduate degree, preferably a JD with experience as a practicing attorney, is ideal. Also preferred is experience managing lateral partner recruiting for an AmLaw 100 firm or with a reputable search firm. Candidates should have a strong understanding of the lateral partner hiring market and industry trends, as well as established relationships with search firms who specialize in lateral partner recruitment. Successful candidates will have proven leadership skills and the ability to garner respect across multiple constituencies. Candidates should have a commitment to high-quality work product and excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects at any given time.
