The Legal Recruiting Coordinator position coordinated the recruiting process for all levels of attorneys. Reporting to the Legal Recruiting Manager and working closely with hiring partners, the position is responsible for implementing attorney search strategies to identify high quality candidates, in alignment with the Firm’s core values of diversity, collaboration, and innovation.


Primary Responsibilities:

Coordinate all Attorney recruiting efforts for the New York office including:

  • Collaborate with Office Managing Partners, Hiring Partner and Legal Recruiting Director to coordinate searches for all attorney hires from partner to law students.
  • Publicize job openings using a variety of conventional and creative means to reach a broad and diverse applicant pool.
  • Timely track and review applications and identify qualified candidates for interview.
  • Schedule interviews with candidates, gather interview feedback, and prepare summary of interview evaluations.
  • Ensure positive candidate experience by welcoming candidates, overseeing interviews, and providing prompt feedback to candidates and search firms.
  • Maintain an updated recruiting database and prepare regular reports on the status of open requisitions and pending candidates.
  • Communicate with recruiting agencies and applicants regarding inquiries, offers, and application status.
  • Facilitate candidate due diligence, including background check, conflicts check, bar admission verification, bar  standing, and references.
  • Assist with onboarding and integration process of new hires.

Coordinate Summer Fellowship Program for assigned office(s); including:

  • Create a unique and rewarding experience for Summer Fellows by providing hands-on experience, personalized mentoring, and engaging social activities.
  • Utilize a variety of approaches to publicize the program to law schools, law students, job fairs, and other referral sources that reach a broad and diverse candidate pool.
  • Schedule interviews with candidates, gather interview feedback, and prepare summary of interview evaluations.
  • Facilitate offer process to ensure decisions are made on a timely basis and prepare follow-up correspondence to law students and law schools.
  • Prepare regular status reports on pending candidates and monitor extended offers.
  • Plan and execute social events throughout the summer in collaboration with the local office and social committees.
  • Monitor expenditures and ensure compliance with program and office budgets.
  • Facilitate mid- and end-of-summer review process.
  • Provide administrative support on lateral partner recruiting.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with legal search firms. Ensure that contingency fee agreements are in place and current. Process placement fee invoices in a timely manner.
  • Participate in national recruiting calls to develop and promote consistent firm-wide recruiting efforts and best practices.
  • Participate in local office meetings and collaborate with local office administration on recruiting efforts.
  • Assist the Legal Recruiting team with any projects or tasks assigned from time to time.

  • The successful candidate will be highly detail oriented, possess creative problem solving skills, and have an ability to meet deadlines while handling multiple and shifting priorities.  Flexibility to adjust hours to meet operating needs is required.
  • The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with high volumes of work, will be proactive, and will be a self-starter.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required.  Knowledge of Workday a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.  Knowledge of attorney recruiting procedures and a minimum of two years’ law firm or other professional recruiting experience is required.
