The Legal Recruiting Assistant will support the New York Legal Recruiting Department with a variety of aspects related to the summer associate program, entry-level recruiting, and lateral recruiting.


Summer Associate Program

  • Assist with summer program events, including creating calendar invitations, tracking RSVPs, and attending assigned events.
  • Prepare materials for summer associate reviews.
  • Conduct check-in meetings with summer associates and respond to any enquiries.
  • Additional summer program projects as assigned by the Legal Recruiting Manager.

Entry-Level Recruiting

  • Upload candidate data into LawCruit, and ensure data is maintained.
  • Assist with on-campus interview (OCI) logistics.
  • Schedule callback interviews, collect interview evaluations and prepare packets for review.
  • Assist with follow-up efforts.
  • Assist with planning and execution of offer receptions.
  • Work with law school student groups to execute recruiting initiatives.
  • Assist with all aspects of 1L, 3L, clerk and LLM hiring.

Lateral Recruiting

  • Assist the Director of Lateral Associate Hiring with lateral search logistics.
  • Process resumes, organize interview schedules and collect interviewer feedback.
  • Liaise with legal placement agencies and/or prospective candidates from the initial screening stage through employment decision stage.
  • Assist with onboarding process for new hires.


  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum of one year of work experience at a mid-sized or large law firm, career services or other professional services industry is preferred
  • Proficiency in the use of computer programs including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with database programs (e.g., LawCruit, Symplicity); advanced social media (LinkedIn etc.) and web-based programs skills are highly desirable
  • Excellent written and oral communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to recognize confidential information and to maintain confidentiality of such information.
  • Ability to work efficiently independently as well as within a team
  • Highly-motivated with strong initiative skills.

Additional Information:

This is a non-exempt position; candidate must be willing and able to work overtime as needed.
