The Legal Recruiting Manager is responsible for the firm’s full-cycle recruiting efforts targeted at law students and their integration into the firm.  The Manager will help to orchestrate and facilitate the efforts that guide candidates and summer associates through an engaging and meaningful recruitment, onboarding and integration process.  The Manager will also assist with the planning and execution of portions of the summer associate program, and serve as a firm liaison to candidates and summer associates.


Summer Program

  • Oversee and coordinate the New York office summer associate program details including orientation, on boarding, work allocation, feedback and social events
  • Manage information flow received from regular check-in calls with summer associates to assigning contacts, mentors and other members of the team
  • Coordinate the summer associate mentoring program
  • Manage summer associate evaluations, review meetings and the offer process
  • Develop summer social activities and events and supervise the Recruiting Assistants in the planning and execution of events
  • Manage and plan various practice group and affinity group events
  • Manage the summer associate training curriculum with the Professional Development team
  • Manage the summer associate rotation program including liaising with partners and office managers to determine needs and the rotation schedule and liaising with the  participating summer associates
  • Manage the day-to-day questions and logistical guidance needed by summer associates before, during and after the program
  • Liaise with the Legal Personnel & Professional Development team for a successful integration to the firm as full-time associates

Recruiting Related

  • Oversee school team program with partners and associates to establish tailored recruitment strategies and processes
  • Manage and execute on the firm’s sponsorship strategy at each law school
  • Coordinate with the co-manager to organize evening interview programs during recruiting season
  • Assist the Director of Legal Recruiting Analytics with preparation of voting agendas and related background and documentation
  • Coordinate 3L interview and offer process
  • Attend various recruiting events as a strong ambassador for the firm (i.e. hospitality suites, offer dinners, and other firm events as needed)
  • Spearhead efforts to engage former summers in recruiting process
  • Partner with Lateral Hiring Manager as needed


  • Participate in the preparation of annual recruiting budget
  • Supervise Recruiting Assistants in their daily responsibilities as applicable
  • Remain current and knowledgeable on citywide restaurant and social offerings
  • Collaborate on varied projects as needed within Recruiting, Personnel & Professional Development and Diversity, Equity Inclusion
  • Additional duties as needed


Required Experience:

  • 5-7 years of legal recruiting or equivalent related experience required
  • Ability to effectively present information verbally and in writing
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively in a team atmosphere
  • Excellent ability to organize, prioritize, and multi-task work activities in a high pressure environment
  • Client-focused with a personable and outgoing demeanor
  • Must be flexible to adjust hours to meet departmental needs

Preferred Experience:

  • Prior supervisory experience preferred.  viRecruit experience preferred

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree required
