The Legal Recruiting Assistant is responsible for assisting in campus interview preparation, securing and coordinating in-office attorney interviews during the recruiting season and planning and execution of summer associate programs and events and year-round 1L outreach events.  The Assistant will also support the Legal Personnel and Professional Development team as needed.


  • Assist with coordination and scheduling of on-campus and in-office interview meetings for all incoming associates including lateral associates and summer associate candidates
  • Liaise regularly with partners and associates on recruiting activities, cultivating strong relationships to work successfully together
  • Assist in planning all aspects of summer social program including weekly social events, partner cocktail parties, affinity group, practice group and law school events
  • Assist in executing year-round recruiting events including, but not limited to, 1L school receptions, on campus outreach events, offer dinners and callback receptions
  • Prepare interview packets for attorneys participating in on-campus interviews
  • Greet candidates during in office interviews and programs
  • Manage external vendor relationships and remain current on citywide social offerings throughout the year
  • Maintain accurate files for summer and other recruiting events including correspondence, contracts, invoices, RSVP lists and general feedback; remain conscious of budget constraints
  • Provide support for orientation process of summer associates
  • Assist with tracking summer associate assignment updates through regular check-in calls; assist in gathering summer associate feedback and evaluations from attorneys for mid-summer and final reviews
  • Act as liaison between the firm and school organizations to participate in effective campus recruitment efforts and track outreach activity
  • Assist with historical data and statistical tracking year-round
  • Collaborate on varied projects with Legal Personnel and Professional Development department as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Be flexible to adjust hours to work schedule that will require overtime to meet departmental needs (especially in August) and ability to attend evening events



  • Bachelor’s degree required


  • 1 to 2 years of relevant experience; legal recruiting or equivalent related experience preferred
  • Ability to interact well and build professional relationships while maintaining confidentiality
  • Must have a professional yet personable demeanor and possess excellent organizational and administrative capabilities
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team atmosphere
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task work flow in a fast paced environment
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, database management systems and web-based databases/software


  • Advanced Excel Knowledge
