Overview:
As a member of the Legal Recruiting & Development Department (LRD), the Legal Recruiting Coordinator will support the New York Attorney Recruiting team on all aspects of the summer associate program, on-campus recruiting, campus outreach, clerk recruiting and first year associate recruiting and onboarding.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent oral and written communication skills; be a team player; guide junior members of the team; demonstrate strong client service; have the utmost respect for confidentiality and attention to detail; work independently and be able to follow up with minimal instructions; be results-oriented; have the ability to prioritize work and work on multiple projects in a fast paced environment; interact with potential recruits, attorneys and staff at all levels of the Firm’s business; strong organizational skills, demonstrate initiative and work under pressure and deal with demanding deadlines. Individual must be flexible to work overtime.
Responsibilities:
Essential Functions: (This list is not exhaustive and may be supplemented and changed as necessary.)
Summer Associate Program
- Coordinate orientation and oversee onboarding paperwork
- Maintain summer associate calendar
- Plan and attend networking events
- Coordinate mentor program
- Support Attorney Engagement Team and Assigning Attorneys to maintain work allocation database
- Facilitate summer associate reviews
- Coordinate summer associate departures
- Liaise between the Summer Associates, the attorneys and staff
On Campus Recruiting
- Coordinate with all offices and register for on-campus interviews, job fairs and resume collect registrations
- Maintain OCI calendar and details spreadsheet
- Review on-campus materials and send to interviewers
- Schedule 1L, 2L,3L and LLM students for screening and callback interviews
- Coordinate follow-up efforts, including offer receptions
- Ensure data integrity in ViDesktop (candidate database)
- Prepare relevant reports in ViDesktop for candidate tracking and analysis
Campus Outreach
- Coordinate law school and law student outreach including panels, receptions, mentoring programs, etc.
- Process sponsorship requests
Clerk Recruiting
- Plan and execute clerk recruiting outreach and receptions
- Circulate clerk candidates to attorneys and schedule interviews
Miscellaneous
- Oversee new associate class onboarding/HR paperwork
- Supervise assistants, temps and summer interns Generate and administer surveys using Novi
- Update communications and reports in ViDesktop
- Respond to inquiries from attorneys and staff, as needed
- Independently liaise and coordinate with departments outside of LRD
- Assist with administrative support
- Respond actively, thoroughly and courteously to the needs of clients and internal requests within the firm; volunteer time and knowledge; work effectively and willingly with others
Qualifications:
Education, Work Experience, Skills
- Bachelor’s degree
- Two years of professional work experience preferred, preferably in law firm environment
Technologies/Software
- Strong Microsoft Office skills including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote
- Symplicity and viDesktop experience preferred
