Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP, a premier international law firm with over 1,600 attorneys and 20 offices in major financial centers worldwide, seeks a Recruiting Assistant for our Washington, D.C. office. The Recruiting Assistant will provide administrative support to the D.C. Recruiting Manager with additional support to the D.C. Recruiting Senior Assistant


Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with on-campus interviews (OCI), including candidate vetting, OCI scheduling, hospitality suite logistics, callback interview scheduling, and creating offer letters.
  • Assisting with all aspects of the summer program, including event planning, updating budget, maintaining calendar, tracking participation and attending events.
  • Handling lateral, clerk, and graduate-level interview scheduling and interviewer comments, and managing the D.C. Recruiting Department inbox.
  • Coordinating logistics for recruiting-related meetings, trainings, and firm presentations
  • Managing interview calendar for on-campus and lateral recruiting.
  • Responding to internal and external inquiries in a timely manner and being a resource for recruiting-related inquires.
  • Tracking and processing recruiting expenses using ChromeRiver accounting software and handling all bill splits.
  • Assisting with preparing materials for on-campus programming and events
  • Handling responses to unsolicited resumes.
  • Interfacing and collaborating with key personnel in Human Resources, Accounting, Diversity, Professional Development, and the Firmwide Legal Recruiting Department.
  • Assisting, as needed and as available, with on-the-ground logistics for D.C. office attorney-facing events.
  • Attending monthly WALRAA meetings/events.
  • Attending the D.C. office's Diversity Committee meetings.

  • Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Exhibit professionalism and must have the willingness to learn and be a team player.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality of work while functioning within deadlines of a fast-paced work environment is essential.
  • The candidate must have the ability to handle highly sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion.

Additional Information:


  • A Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • 1-2 years of work experience at a law firm or recruiting experience is preferred but not required.
  • Strong computer skills including expertise in Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint are required.
  • Experience with ViRecruit or other applicant tracking software is also preferred.
