The Coordinator of Associate Life is responsible for supporting the Firm’s Associate Mentoring Program, and working with the Director of Legal Personnel/Professional Development and the Associate Director of Professional Development and Training to develop and maintain programs and initiatives. This role contributes to the overall function of the Legal Personnel Department by providing general administrative support with the review process, planning and coordination of events, and serving as a point of contact and resource to all Associates.


  • Oversight and maintenance of STB’s Development Mentoring Program, which includes formal mentoring assignments for all incoming associates and laterals, as well as encouraging and tracking informal mentoring activities across offices
  • Support the orientation and integration process for new Associates and laterals, including the coordination of formal mentoring assignments
  • Liaise/coordinate with the Diversity and Inclusion team on mentoring efforts
  • Manage and approve mentoring charges through Finance tracking system
  • Assist with development of new databases to support overall mentoring and feedback initiatives with the use of individual attorney dashboards
  • Assist with the administration of the Bi-Annual Attorney Review process across all offices
  • Assist with Attorney Upward Review Program, including data sharing and database assistance
  • Assist with the overall planning and execution of various Firm-wide events and meetings, along with the Legal Personnel Coordinator , such as departmental events, STBReady, ‘Welcome to the Floor’ parties and monthly Coffee Hours
  • Liaise with various administrative departments, including Office Services, IT, presenters, and external venues, to manage meeting, program and event logistics
  • Assist with liaising with attorneys going out on leaves of absence and departing attorneys
  • Assist with the Firm’s Wellness program and efforts; liaise with the Benefits & Wellness team
  • Provide ongoing general support and assistance to the Legal Personnel department
  • Perform related work and other duties as required, including support across the full legal talent function.




  • Bachelor's degree required

  • 3 years of relevant professional experience
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to interact well and build professional relationships while maintaining confidentiality
  • Ability to self-direct juggle multiple priorities
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills
  • Must be able to work in a demanding, fast-paced and service-oriented environment
  • Must be team oriented
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, database management systems and web-based databases/software; strong Excel and PowerPoint skills a plus.
  • Must be flexible to adjust hours to work schedule that will require periodic overtime to meet departmental needs and ability to attend some evening events


  • Prior experience in a law firm or professional services firm strongly preferred
